A Little Bit About Me

Meet Oreo and Willow!

Oreo is a wise 5 year old white-crested guinea pig, and Willow is her energetic 2-year-old Abyssinian companion. Recently, they both paid a visit to the vet and received glowing reports on their overall well-being. However, it was determined that Oreo needed a little extra attention in the form of a weight loss regimen. Oreo is now on a carefully tailored diet to shed those extra grams and regain her sprightly vitality.

Being the older member of the pair, Oreo requires specific senior guinea pig care to ensure her comfort and happiness. Here are a few tips to help both pigs thrive:

- Nutritious Diet: Ensure both pigs receive a balanced diet rich in vitamin C, fiber, and low in fat. Fresh vegetables like bell peppers, kale, and broccoli are excellent sources of vitamin C. It is also essential that Oreo and Willow both get a daily Oxbow vitamin C tablet, specially made to support their immune systems and overall health!

- Regular Veterinary Check-ups: Schedule regular check-ups with a knowledgeable vet to monitor their health and address any concerns promptly.

- Comfortable Housing: Provide both girls with a cozy and spacious pen with layers of soft blankies to support Oreo's aging joints, and provide a comfortable resting place for all.

- Extra Love and Attention: Shower Oreo with extra love and attention to ensure she feels cherished and secure in her senior years. But let's not forget about Willow! This spirited youngster may not be as seasoned as Oreo, but she certainly appreciates the royal treatment and indulgence that come with it.
