A Little Bit About Me

This two-year old pocket cat didn't have much opportunity to be a kitten in her previous home, where she was one of many cats and looked after multiple litters. She has bloomed in foster care and is channeling all of her kitten attitude into playing, looking outside, and climbing all of the available perches. Babette also enjoys hanging out by your side and receiving all the pets on offer (she especially enjoys butt scritches).

If you want a loving, silly and energetic companion who is also happy to chill near you, then this may be the cat for you. Babette needs to lead the process of bonding, as she can be nervous about sudden noises, but once you show her that you are trustworthy, she will be your friend for life.

This tiny tuxie quickly warmed up in foster care - her curiosity and love of creative play helped her overcome most of her fears. You can win your way into this cat's heart with a wand toy, feathered objects, bouncy balls, or by giving her an extended cuddling session. She is highly food motivated and appreciates treats, but prefers scritches and interaction.

Babette isn't yet sitting on laps, but will happily stand or lay on your lap while you pet her, before bounding off to explore the next thing. She will happily snooze cuddled up against your hip or your arm, and will sleep close by on a nice blanket. When you pet her, she will show her appreciation by purring and gazing into your eyes. She is fairly quiet, only meowing to greet you when she hears you through the door. She is mildly interested in things that happen outdoors, but is mesmerized by computer cursors.

Babette has displayed some food insecure behaviours - she eats very quickly and doesn't leave any food in her bowl. Her foster has observed that over time, she has focused more on playing than on food and that a consistent feeding schedule has helped Babette transition to her new life.

This cute and sassy cat would do best in a quieter home with no small children, and patient companions who are happy to let her set the pace of the relationship.
