A Little Bit About Me

Are you looking for a kitty to hold you accountable when it comes to giving them the best, most exciting life ever?! Well then, Sasha may be your gal.

Sasha is very social and affectionate with people she trusts. She absolutely loves resting on your lap or legs while watching TV and being given gentle pats on her head and neck. She doesn't like being held but will tolerate it for brief periods or for trimming her nails.

We suspect she is part Siamese which accounts for beautiful big eyes, and the little bit of the CAT-itude. Like most Siamese, affection is on her terms. She connects with some people right away, and ignores/tolerates others.

She has a VERY active mind and requires an enriching environment. She needs an owner who is dedicated to keeping her busy with new toys, puzzle games, clicker training, harness walking, or any new activity to keep her mind and body satisfied. Sasha even loves cat tv!! She is smart and can figure out treat puzzles quickly, so she is always looking for a new challenge. Sasha likes to be an active companion in your life and activities. She is very social with the people she loves, and wants to be engaged with whatever they're doing.

Sasha is prone to anxiety and over stimulation so a calm environment is best for her. If she feels threatened she will stand her ground and hiss/swat while other cats would probably hide. Sasha enjoys being groomed, however it's imperative to watch her body language as she can get overstimulated and swat. For that reason, it is best for her to be in an adult only home.

To help with anxiety and changes in her environment we've started her on an over the counter supplement called Zyklene which has been very effective in helping her to relax. It has made a notable difference (along with keeping her brain busy) in her behaviours and has lessened her decisions to swat.

Sasha starts her mornings off with a gentle paw on her foster mom to wake her up. She gets some gentle pets and they start their day. She is a relatively quiet girl, usually only making her meows known around food time.

The reason Sasha is in foster even though she is very healthy is because she does extremely poorly in a shelter environment. She is shut down, and completely terrified. Once she is in a calm home she comes out of her shell quickly and becomes a social and affectionate cat!

All of this being said Sasha is a very loving kitty that will keep you on your toes, but her beauty and quirky personality is worth it. We know that in the right home, with a dedicated cat owner who is looking for a busy kitty, she will do great.
